The construction of houses in Al Hamraa state depend mostly on the natural resources such as clay, hay, rocks, palm trunks or fronds and wood from local trees called “Sidr” trees (Cidre trees) or “Alalan trees” (Juniperus Excelsa). The houses in Al Hamraa are considered unique within Oman due to the type of clay used (Al Madar) which provided the ability to construct up to three stories buildings. Al Haditha district located at the foothills of the Hajar Mountains in Al Hamraa state, Al Dakhiliya region. We can see in the pictures the diversity of the buildings between the old and new way of buildings.
